"He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, And he who rules his spirit, than he who captures a city."(Proverbs 16:32) See what God Himself is telling you here. If you look throughout history, men that have won great battles have had their triumphs recorded for examples even today, thousands of years later right? Men such as Alexander the Great, Napolean, King David come to mind, there are many warriors who have conquered and defeated vast armies and their stories are recorded as incredible acts of proficiency in battle. But look at what the word of God is telling you. As great as those victories were, as much as those men are recorded in history for all time, as powerful as they were and as much as their names are synonymous with these great victories, the One who created the universe is telling you that if you keep anger in check and exhibit self control, you are mightier than these men. Please get this in your spirit. Are you getting the magnitude of this counsel? Beloved, instead of immediately getting your back up the next time someone tries to get under your skin, hurts you intentionally, breaks your trust, DO NOT ALLOW ANGER TO RULE YOU. As they go on trying to get the best of you, meditate upon this scripture in your heart and remind yourself that by NOT engaging them, you are mightier than the greatest Generals in history. As soon as you explode into anger you have already lost the battle. Think nothing of what the one trying to get to you is thinking. What does it matter if you win that argument and walk away defeated because you have gone contrary to the very word of God? People are going to intentionally try to hurt you. Not just people, sometimes good friends and yes, many times even family and those who have confessed love for you. But wisdom always defeats emotion. Emotion can land you in prison, even kill you, but wisdom, yes, wisdom will rack up victory on top of victory and you will always walk away with honor and boldness of spirit. Make a commitment to remove anger from your life today. You already know some will intentionally try to get under your skin so you have advance knowledge. One who maintains self control and has authority over their anger has authority over their surroundings. God bless you richly.
