Health update and question: gonna make this short bc i dont feel well due to flu and arthritis flare causing terrible stiffness in hands today.. Got PICC line April 2014 *IV Azithromycin 5x/wk (2 days off in between) *IV Glutathione (for detoxification. Has helped TREMENDOUSLY) *IV Saline 3x wk (for hydration and low blood volume due to POTS caused by the lyme) This regimen gave me my life back this summer. I started to plateau a little, tried flagyl, horrible experience my body couldnt take it, so went back on Azithromycin & off flagyl. Took about a full month to recover from the flagyl set back. PCP & LLMD put me on Lovenox injections (blood thinners) bc of my blood being like sludge (nothing new its been that way for awhile) Blood thinner has also helped sooo much bc my blood can get to organs it could not reach before. Besides the flu and the normal winter time pain i am doing soo much better. As in, I can do normal things again some days. Cooking my daughter dinner and after school routine does not feel like running a marathon, or impossible like it was last year and before picc line. I have my bad days still yes. But they are fewer amd farther between and i am able to push through when need be. Ok, so going to LLMD appt this Thursday. At last appt oct 30th we talked about going off the Azithromycin and onto something else. I understand why this is sort of necessary. BUT problem is i am allergic to penicillin family, and several other classes of abx so i am quite a challenge. She suggested Levaquin. I know all the dangers of it and am 50/50 on whether or not i will give it a go. My QUESTION is.. do i absolutely NEED to go off my Azithromycin and switch to another IV med? I am still seeing benefits. Is it at all possible to stay on a little longer u think? Its been 8 months on Azith.. would it be ok to stay on maybe 3 more months before switching and maybe ADD something new like Mepron or something oral in combo with the IV azith?
