Heard a conversation between two ESM students on my flight, last night. One was a freshman jazz major and the other an upper classman string player. The freshman student had a GREAT attitude and actually tolerated the ignorant queries and ideas of his classmate impressively. The string player was full of erroneous opinions and complaints. I auditioned at MSM...all the professors there are a-holes. Ummmm...really? I took a lesson with one professor and he told me Id get into the school but I wouldnt be one of the best players at the school....WHAT A DOUCHE...I mean...I know what Im worth. What? Doesnt look good for this kid down the road. Isnt a professor supposed to tell you the truth? Dont you need to know your weaknesses in order to improve? Then I saw a sticker on his violin case. Dont hate me because Im beautiful. Lastly, I was left thinking: It isnt necessary to have an opinion about EVERYTHING.
