Hearts Compelled to Share - Daily Devotion for Wednesday, January 21, 2015 Get God Out! Read: Romans 1:16 (ow.ly/HzDJa) A young man was valedictorian of his public high school class and given the honor of speaking at his commencement. The administration knew that he was a committed Christian and gave him strict instructions about refraining from using God’s in his speech. Here’s what he did. He convinced 92 of his friends in the graduating class to sneeze at the same time. The young man then shouted out, “God bless you!” Contrary to instructions, he got God out anyway. As a child of God through Jesus Christ, we are called to “get God” out in our daily lives. Rather than being ashamed of our Savior, we honor our Lord in the way that we think and speak and talk. Our witness becomes a way of life and a testimony to God’s grace alive in our hearts and lives. When God opens a door to speak about our faith, with all confidence, we walk through that open door and witness to Christ. The power of Christ, who died and rose for us, enables us to demonstrate the compassion of our Savior in every part of our lives. Can you think of a way you can “get God out” in your life this day?
