Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. What kind of house will you build for me? says the Lord. Or where will my resting place be? (Acts 7:49) But who is able to build a temple for him, since the heavens, even the highest heavens, cannot contain him? Who then am I to build a temple for him, except as a place to burn sacrifices before him? (2 Chronicles 2:6) However, the Most High does not live in houses made by human hands. As the prophet says: (Acts 7:48) The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands. (Acts 17:24 ) what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. (Romans 1:19) His eyes are on the ways of mortals; he sees their every step. (Job 34:21) There is no deep shadow, no utter darkness, where evildoers can hide. (Job 34:22) I the LORD search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve. (Jeremiah 17:10)
