Hebrew Roots movement hold to the teaching that Christs death did - TopicsExpress

Hebrew Roots movement hold to the teaching that Christs death did not end the Mosaic Covenant, but renewed it and expanded its message. They destroy the New Testament text written in Greek. By doing this they attack the reliability of the entire text of our Bible. If the Greek text is not reliable and has been corrupted, as the Hebraic Roots movement says the Church no longer has a standard of truth. They say that we have lost the understanding that Jesus was a Jew. I have not lost that understanding. He is the very same Jew that tells us that the Jews didn’t get it. He led us to Himself as being the object of our worship not the Jewish system. He presented Himself as the fulfillment of every shadow that was represented. Why would we return to living in a shadow that never completely changed the hearts of the Jews. They prefer to be identified as Messianic Christians.” Most reject the use of the name Jesus in favor of Yeshua or YHWH. Colossians 2:16-17 says, Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day – things which are a shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ. Their efforts to teach that the Old Covenant is still in effect destroys what the New Testament teaches. By their twisting the New Testament to agree with the Hebrew Roots beliefs, is false teaching and a damnable lie. It is what was being talked about in Hebrews. Heb 10:1 For the law, having a shadow of the good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with these same sacrifices, which they offer continually year by year, make those who approach perfect. Returning to the Jewish form is the willful Sin of Hebrews 10:26. That is the problem faced when many were returning to the worship still found in the Temple. These people had been involved in the truth and knew the Gospel but left it in favor of the Jewish way. Heb 10:26 For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, Heb 10:27 but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries.
