Heidi and Howie The ad read Two Baby Mini Donkeys $800. I called and she said they were 3 and 4 months old and she had to pull them off their moms and put them in her barn because the moms were guard animals and couldnt do their jobs with babies to care for. She said that they had been in here barn almost a month and she needed to sell them now. We were on our way home from delivering donkeys and I told my husband to turn around because we were going to get some babies. He had heard my conversation and just said ok. We pulled the trailer up to her barn and found two little scared babies. We carried them to the trailer and I got the money out and she said its $800 each. Brett said pay her and lets go. The little girl that we named Heidi was in real bad shape and it was a 5 hour drive home. I had our vet meet us and she gave her fluids and we vaccinated them. Luckily, I had 5 dams in milk, so we had enough to give them plenty. They both had really bad bites, Heidis is the worst that I have seen. Its been a long, rough road for these two, but their story does have a happy ending as they are healthy now and have found a good home together with a nice family. The last picture shows them as they are now, playing and enjoying life.
