Hej kjære Danske venner. I was just checking out the page for the Danish Music Awards 2013 Folk. Very exciting stuff going on. I wish I could come. But I saw a pattern which is rather unpleasant to notice: there are only men playing at the show. Only. (If, of course the female artist is not the hemmelig gæst). Are there only men playing folk music in Dk? And how come that on the DMAF page great artists like Jullie Kirstine Hjetland Jensen, Helene Blum, Karen Mose etc have just landed on and many more... in the list of Amongst previous winners of the Danish Music Award Folk, we find bands and people like Trias, Jensen & Bugge, Henrik Jansberg, Habadekuk, Hal & Nikolaj, Haugaard & Høirup, Trio Mio, Nikolaj Busk, Hal Parfitt Murray, Lang Linken, ZAR, Harald Haugaard, Lars Lilholt, Morten Alfred Høirup, Fin Alfred Larsen, ULC, Instinkt and many more… Is it something only someone from outside can notice? Do you see it? Is it important? What to do about it? ...
