Helicopter crash. According to the San Juan County Sheriffs Office a helicopter, owned by Minute Man Aviation, crashed near the Anticline Overlook area in Lockhart Basin at approximately 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 11 in northern San Juan County. The pilot, who was the sole occupant, was injured. A second helicopter was in the area and was able to transport the pilot to Moab Regional Hospital. At this time it is unknown what caused the accident. The helicopters were in the area doing mineral survey work and were contracted by Green River Energy. UPDATE: Moab Sun News has learned that the wreckage of the helicopter was removed at approximately 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept 12 by another helicopter [Photos by Tom Higginson]
