Hello Everyone, Thank you to those that made it to the meeting last night. For those that were not able to attend, you were missed. Here are some notes to bring everyone up to speed on what was discussed at the meeting. Our new staff partner, Allison Schooley was in attendance and she is excited to be on board and working with us. You can contact her at 804-527-3712 or email [email protected] Meetings It was decided that we will continue our meetings on the 2nd Tuesday of each month and they will be held at 6:30 pm at the Administration Building. Our next meeting will be December 10, 2013. We will have a “Sweet Feast” if anyone would like to bring treats to share. We will also be signing Christmas cards for Survivors that have participated in Relay in the past. If you have cards you would like to donate, please bring them with you to the meeting. We will need about 100 or so cards. Fundraisers It was discussed that we will continue to sell Luminaries and torches. White bags- $10; Gold bag w/stars -$25 and Torches- $35. Friends Who Care- They are raffling a Christmas Wreath. Tickets are $1 each or 5 for $3. The raffle will run until the first of December. Contact Connie Wells for more information. Team Hope – They are selling various fruit. Prices vary based on amount/type of fruit purchased. Please contact Juanita Tee for more information. We also discussed the Sponsorship levels and how we may be able to adjust the cost for businesses that may want to make a donation but not at the $250 level. . Ideas were Themed or Sponsored laps and adding sponsor names to track signs. Allison will be looking into the sponsorship levels to see if we are able to adjust them some or if they are set. Participants There are currently 23 participants and 6 teams registered. Jorgee feels this number is not quite accurate as there are registrations that need to be added online. We have raised $340.00 Registration Team Captain Packets are being mailed to each Team Captain from ACS. They are mailed out after the captain has registered the team. Survivors must also register. There is no registration fee for them but they must complete the registration form and turn it in or register online. Forms can be printed online if you know of a survivor that does not have internet access. Committee Positions At this time the following positions have been filled: Chair – Jorgee Boyles-Johnson Co-Chair – Anna Booker Accounting - Connie Wells and Wanda Williams Data Entry – Debra Peay Survivor Lunch- Juanita Tee Survivor Ceremony – Catherine Wilkinson Registration – Viola Pegram and Angeline Wingo Communications- Tammi Wright We are still looking to fill the following positions: Luminaries, Sponsorship, Entertainment, Set-up, Take down, Logistics If you are interested or know of someone that may be, please let Jorgee know. Other Information We will be utilizing the Amelia Relay For Life website and Facebook page for communicating.
