Hello Everyone: We are at Los Angeles Union Station in March of 1971. On the right is the Southern Pacific Sunset Limited just in from New Orleans (It arrived late as usual that day) while next to it is one of the many Santa Fe San Diegan trains. The two crewmen in between the trains are getting ready to service the Santa Fe train while the SP train will be going back to the coach yard across the Los Angeles River. In just a month, these train would be no longer operated by their individual railroad lines as the newly created National Rail Passenger Corporation would take over. It would also have a new name AMTRAK. But right now the two trains are side by side in the depot and all is well. ENJOY.
