Hello, FB followers... I was the subject of another nasty weak - TopicsExpress

Hello, FB followers... I was the subject of another nasty weak attack today. This one is from a new shady PAC. They take a swipe at me on four points. I will address each point. PLEASE SHARE with your Attleboro FB friends. 1) I withdrew my support for the bill that would have fired police for swearing; the bill was supposed to be about prohibiting intentional racism but somehow swearing became the focus of the bill. The bill was co-sponsored by my predecessor Rep Ross but it was never an issue when he was in office. Petty politics... 2) BOTH Democrats and Republicans voted for the $1 billion expansion to the Boston Convention Center because it was a good jobs bill that is projected to give an ROI to the Commonwealth. And the $9 million to renovate the governors office was: A) voted on by REPUBLICANS, TOO, B) part of a 4,500 word bond bill, and C) restoring a historic wing of a historic building! Governor Deval Patrick is leaving in 3 months. This wasnt for his comfort. It was for the historic preservation. 3) I did not vote FOR a higher sales tax (this is a new one). I voted to keep the sale tax where it is because the Republicans who sponsored the amendment to lower the sales tax to 5% didnt say how we were going to pay for cuts to services and programs such as police and fire, and local aid and school aid. This distortion is truly an amazing twist on words. 4) Local aid.... I just have no idea what they are talking about in this. They reference the Mass Budget and Policy Center, not a roll call vote. I voted for an extra $25 million in Local Aid. The amazing thing about this attack mailing is that it says I voted for cuts to local aid but then says that I voted for a higher sales tax. So let me get this straight... I voted to reduce expenses but increase taxes. And the money goes where??? Certainly not to me. This is just not true nor logical. And the icing on the mailing was that they used a picture of me from when I was in North Korea and said Out of Touch across the picture. A good outcome about my trip to North Korea is that I was twice invited to Attleboro High School to discuss what I learned first-hand taking a vacation with my Harvard graduate school classmates. When is that last time an Attleboro Rep came back from a vacation overseas and was able to turn it into a class on world affairs at our high school?!!? And for the record, I have not had a vacation since last August 2013 when I went to NK. Please share this with everyone so that people know that these smear campaigns are not tolerated.
