Hello From Dawson City and the close of day 5 of the Alcan5000 Rally. Sorry for the gap in updates. Between very long days ( 8 to 12 hours on the bike each day) and poor to non-existent internet access its been a challenge trying to update the IMR page. The rally is not going as well as I had hoped. An issue with my Rally computer has left me with scores all over the board. I currently sit 16th overall and believe Ive resolved the issue. May be too late however to compete for the win. Weve only tonight seen scores since the first day. Which means I wasnt able to determine that I had an issue until tonight. Weve still got 4 tests left so well see how things shake out. On a positive note, Ive been enjoying the riding very much. The bike has performed flawlessly. Big shout out to the boys at Giant Loop Motorcycle Gear for Dualsport, Adventure & Sport Touring. Between the Great Basin saddle bag and the Fandango Pro tank bag I have everything I need at my finger tips. Weve already ridden nearly 1000 miles off road and I havent had to adjust the bags once. There have many competitors struggling with their hard bags as the terrain can be punishing. Wednesday alone had over 400 miles of non paved surface. We are headed for Fairbanks AK tomorrow and hope to have time for a more detailed recap. More soon, John
