Hello all, How hard will it be if I want to spend about one - TopicsExpress

Hello all, How hard will it be if I want to spend about one week during summer vacation in a city in the region of Northern Ostrobothnia of Finland. I’m 20 years old from Antalya and a sophomore at two universities in the divisions of English Language and Literature, and International Affairs (Akdeniz University – Anadolu University). I have never been aboard, nor have I applied for a visa before. My purpose will be touristic, including a friend visit whom I met at the Comenius programme more than two years ago and have still been in touch with. Consider as if I didn’t have any invitation letter - yet I don’t by the way. I know I have to show a fair amount of money in a bank account, make a reservation beforehand, and have a round-trip ticket. My passport must be valid at least 3 months more after my date of return and I have to pay for a foreign travel insurance. What else am I supposed to do in order to get the visa? I could have got a green passport if only my father had served several years more in the army as a military officer (resigned due to consideration of health). So, I wonder whether it helps me make things easier or not. And what about Schengen Visa? Will it be easier if I apply for it for a particular country? Or any other tricks you can suggest me that I should know about? Turkey has a bad image in the World nowadays and it makes the things harder. I don’t intend to waste the costs of flight tickets, reservations, etc in case of any refusal since I’m a student. That’s why I’m trying to ask as many questions as I can. Replies both in English and Turkish are welcomed. Thanks in advance, İlker. P.S. You may add me here for further information.
