Hello, everybody, Free trip will be from KAUNAS 26/10/2013 at 9:00 We will leave in the morning (~9 A.M.) and come back in the evening. Bus will leave from Kaunas Castle parking, near Kaunas castle. The trip is firstly orientated for non-European Union citizens who have a temporary or permanent (long-term) residence permit to live in Lithuania, but invite all. It would be nice to know, if you have one. If not, please also register yourself, usually we have additional place, simply the preference is given to those with permit (because of the rules of the project). Discription TRAKŲ VOKĖ MANOR The Trakų VokėManor ensemble, a historical architectural monument, exhibits elements of neo-classical, neo-gothic and ecclectic styles. The Trakų Vokė manor house was built between 1876 and 1880 by the marshal of the governor of Vilnius, Jonas Tiškevičius. Building works were headed by the Italian architect L.Marconi. The manor house was restored between 1971 and 1978. The manor is surrounded by a river bend and a beautiful park designed by the famous french architect Eduard Fransoi Andre. The Lithuanian Royal Union of Nobility are the current proprietors of the manor house. UŽUTRAKIS MANOR Užutrakis manor ensemble was created in 1897-1902 by count Józef Tyszkiewicz and his wife duchess Jadwiga Swiętopułk-Czetwertyńska. The palace interiors were exceptionally decorated in the style of Lois XVI. Landscape style Užutrakis park, formed on a peninsula between Galvė and Skaistis lakes and surrounding the parterres, was planned as a water park. Nowadays, this romantic area of ballustrades, sculptures and flower vases became the most popular place for wedding day picnics and other special occasions. LENTVARIS MANOR Lentvaris manor house, one of Józef Tyszkiewicz and was built at the end of XIX century and was reconstructed later according to G. Šachas project. The park of manor was designed by french landscape architect and biologist E. F. Andrė by creating ponds, water cascades, paths, steps and grating system.
