Hello everybody! Happy St. Patrick’s Day! BOL! It’s a wuvely start to the week with more sunshine and mild temperatures… this time last year, Mummy reminded me, we were still deep in snow! The contrast this year is amazing! The trees and hedgerows are coming into leaf and there is loads of blossom around too. Even the scents of spring are strong and there are lots of animals around very early… On our way home, on Saturday, we had a very strange meeting! Mummy was driving and we turned onto the High Street from where we can see our house and running up the High Street towards us, in the middle of the road, were two animals. Mummy had to stop the car as they were running quite fast and we didn’t know where they were going! At first, we thought they were two doggies but, as they got closer, we could see that they were two Muntjac Deer! They veered off the road each side of us and disappeared, one to the churchyard and one into someone’s driveway. What a huge surprise! Saturday was a day of differing emotions. It was a wuvely day but also a sad one. Everyone was feeling sad when we got to our favourite pub . The reason was that the new doggie had got out onto the busy main road, which runs past the pub, and had been hit by a van. She was taken very quickly to the vet, who thought she could be saved but everyone was shocked by what had happened. Mummy and Daddy went back there yesterday for lunch and the news was mixed! She WILL recover but the vet is amputating one of her legs today, as it’s too damaged to be saved! The good news is that she is eating and moving around on her three good legs! She’s a clever girl; I know she will adjust well and the main thing is that she is winning this battle. I can’t wait to see her again! I know it made Mummy and Daddy think about last year as it was EXACTLY a year to the day since I ran off where Nanna and Granddad live and it came close to the same thing happening to me. I didn’t mean to be a naughty girl but when us Terriers see something we want to chase, we just go! Fortunately, I didn’t get hurt and some kind people picked me up and got me back to Mummy and Daddy but I wouldn’t want to put them through such fear again! As you all know, it’s taken me a whole year to start to feel more comfortable around traffic again and I’ve still a long way to go… Anyway, that was then and this is now! The sun is shining; I’m sitting with Mummy as I bark these thoughts to you and we have a wuvely day ahead of treats, food, walks, play and snoozes! We saw Scruffy and his mummy while we were out on our walk; we saw them yesterday afternoon as well. I wuv seeing them; Scruffy is such a wuvely little boy and his mummy is one of the best humans I know! While we were talking, the Chicken Man drew up in his car and said hello to Scruffy and me and then talked to our mummies. I couldn’t smell the chickens as he was in the car and both Scruffy and I did very well as the engine was running all the time, but we both stayed calm and ignored it! I was proud of myself and of Scruffy, although he did have a bit of a bark at couple of other cars, which went by! BOL! I’m sorry I didn’t get to reply or visit much last night! Mummy and I had put aside some time but Facebook wouldn’t let us post. We knew you were talking to us as Mummy told me she kept getting ‘notification alerts’ but when we looked at my page, nothing was there. We’ll be back this evening and give it another go… Until then, enjoy your day; be kind to those you wuv; have fun and keep those tails wagging. Kisses and licks, Brenna
