Hello everybody, happy New Year! Ive been reading a lot about Addison, the article here at the site and doubts and comments (mines and others) and Ive realized that Terry is not in the best medical care. As a reminder, she was diagnosed December 10th. She received her first Percorten (.5ml) that day and was taking 5mg (1tablet) Prednisone every 12 hours. I got worried about it being too much of a high dose of Prednisone due to what you told me, so I decided to reduce it slowly and now she is taking 1/4 of the pill every 12 hours and I am planning to reduce it to only 1/4 a day soon. Last Monday she had a medical appointment to have her lytes checked and the results will be ready tomorrow, but the vet said she must go back next Sunday (25 days after her first Percorten) to have a second HCTH test. I have read here that is not necessary, so I think they are guessing with Terry or maybe trying to make me pay more tests and other stuff. Anyways, I am searching for a new doctor, maybe the one that lent me the first Percorten, since she is an owner of an Adog too. My question is: whilst I find the better option, can you help me calculate the low dose of both medicines for Terry? She is 6.3kg (13.8 lbs). Thanks a lot. 😊
