Hello everyone, I would like to bring you all up to date on the so called gossip on the good old Facebook. As you would have noticed a status was put up on Saturday regarding some issues with our volunteers. Well it seems to be still ongoing and making its way around Facebook. Yes Rockhampton Speedway is a non profit Club and have worked very hard to get the bank balance to where it currently is so to the lady that seems to be obsessed with our awesome Club, I am glad you are showing an interest by your simple minded negative comments as it is great advertising that you have given our club, and it didnt cost us anything. There should be more of it I say. To clear up the misunderstanding regarding our much valued and appreciated Volunteers, it was merely a conversation had regarding what their thoughts were on if the Club provided them with membership, would they consider getting their own Club Insurance. Our Club currently purchases a set amount of what is called Clubs Officials/Volunteers insurance for an event and these are signed to each individual who helps out on the night. We have gone from 5 to 18 Club insurances for each meeting in a matter of 4 years. Yes it is very true, Clubs cannot survive without volunteers, but come on, what was said in a conversation regarding peoples thoughts on how to reduce this number has been blown out of control. I for one pay my Club Membership and also my own insurance and I do plenty of Volunteer hours and do you here me complain. I do it because I love the sport and love this Club. If any one of these Volunteers had or have an issue with how they took or perceived what was said the wrong way, then please contact me. I am a very approachable person as you all know. Hope everyone understands and that this does not become an even bigger issue then it already has. Lets all enjoy our off season and see you all again next year. PS Oh and Rosie, please keep up the free advertising for us. I love it...lol. Thank you
