Hello folks! Back with another cruelty case. Lodged an FIR today at Mulund Police Station for a case of animal dislocation. A dog was picked up from his resident premises, mulund and was dumped somewhere in Govandi. The elderly well educated couple, husband a CA and wife a teacher at Pawar International School did this thing. The incident happened on the 15th September in the night, the couple picked up the dog, put it in their car boot and drove to govandi from mulund and left him there. Luckily some residents saw this but unfortunately did not raise their voice to it. The matter went to the police station yesterday itself but things did not work at all, one of the PSI said that, kya karein ab madam ko kutte se problem tha toh woh usse dusre jagah rakh ke aa gaye, ye koi offense nahi hai etc etc etc when I got to know this from fellow activists who were struggling hard for this I got fumed and upset, I spoke to the inspector of law and order, Mr. Jadhav, explained him the scenario in brief, showed my awo card and asked him whether they would lodge an FIR or not ? He said yes we would, its our duty to take your complaint. It was a big task though, later I had to talk to the officials who were handling the case. Dr. Ravinder Singal sir, I said that I have worked with u for a couple of animal cruelty cases and u have helped me a lot, this was when they got on their foot to task. It took a really long time. Right from 12 to 5 I was just explaining laws in English then marathi and then convincing them, giving the emotional side of it. Arrrrgghhh it has never taken so long for me to register an FIR at any of the police stations. The accused had accepted in front of the police that they had dislocated the dog,(for all who do not know: most of the dogs which are dislocated do not survive as dogs are territorial in nature, they dont let other dogs come in their territory, also this dog being new to the place will be feeling lost, hence running helter skelter to find his own territory, in this process he might be mawed down by a car, mauled and probably killed by other strays) in spite of the perpetrator accepting he being the doer still the psi was asking for witnesses, this pissed me, he got good from me then, left right center I gave him in front of all present in the police station, all the police officers left the task half way n gathered to see what was I saying and who was I to talk like this. Nobody said a word, I kept on firing him, he didnt utter a word, I got all the more pissed because he had said we can lodge a complaint against u if the charges prove to be fake in the court, in spite of knowing that the case was genuine. The blasting calmed me down and accelerated the work :p ;) (I dont loose my temper soon but he was crossing his limits and acting up + taking side of the accused, hence all the yelling) FIR registered under Sec. 428 & 34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 Had told them to put additional non- cognizable sections of the PCA Act,1960 & Bombay Police Act which they didnt add, jaanedo thats fine. FIR lodged, bohut bada kaam kar diya usne !! Thank u so much Chandra Singh , Pooja Bhandari and most importantly Sneha for ur remarkable contribution in this case. I hope the dog is safe, it is not to be found where it was relocated. N the only problem was that the dog had once barked at their daughter. Shame on the lady Mrs. Khanna who did this who is a school teacher. I m going to write to the school authorities as well about this and initiating action against her.
