Hello friends! Hope you have been putting to practice all you have gotten from this platform so far? I would be starting from our last stop- The Structure. The structure, according to Writers Guild of America, is divided into three...Its called the 3-Act structure-the introduction(first act), the complication(second act) and the pay-off(third act). Its also termed, beginning, middle and end. The first act introduces the main character(s), his problem or trial or challenge, the nemesis, love interest, supporting characters and so on. This act usually last for about 20mins. The second act, shows the complication to his / her challenge...That is, when hope seems possible, something just comes to dent that hope...This act carries the bulk of the film and would last for about 40 to 50mins. The third act, is the pay-off, when solution now comes or when the main character defeats his nemesis and so on. Following this hollywood three-act structure gives your script an edge over other people who do not know this method. We would talk more on scriptwriting in the next lecture. See you all.
