Hello, we are working on a service project for school(required for one credit) and have decided to make wet felted Therapeutic pet mats to sell with the donations going to our local Humane Society. We are planning to donate half of the sales to Kootenai Humane Society and half will go to our Wooly Rescue for fiber bearing animals and large animals in need. We will also donate several felted pet mats to KHS to send home with newly adopted pets. ***Our felted mats are also useful as chair pads, kitchen mats to relieve stress of feet and legs while standing for a long time, door mats, and boot mats. So even if you dont have a small pet, they are useful for many other thing and can even be customized with colorful borders or needle felted designs.**** Who are we? We are a brother and sister(High school grades) who are homeschooled through the Idaho Virtual Academy K-12 program. We are required to complete a service project of our choice that is approved through our K-12 Program, an essay about our project and a Power Point production showing what we did and explaining how it benefited our community, for one credit. Being from a very rural area, and already running a small scale private animal rescue for fiber and large animals, we decided to use the items we had: wool and fiber from sheep and Alpacas in our rescue to make therapeutic pet mats for shelter and geriatric pets. Our pets tested and love these mats! We are selling these Therapeutic Pet Mats through our Etsy shop because it is, safe, secure and easy to keep track of mats sold, and anyone can look and see how many we have sold/donated if they are interested in following our progress.
