Help!! I have two kittens, both males, that are 6 months old. Theyre both neutered and came from the same litter. I brought them home at the same time and one of them keeps peeing in places that arent the litter box...I started with one litter box and the vet said that could be the issue. I got a second litter box and he still does it. I tried changing the litter and he still did it. I told a vet tech and she told me that its just a behavior that he learned and that I cant do anything about it. She was no help at all. I tried rewarding him when he uses the box because he does use it , just not all the time. I dont hit him when he does it on the carpet, I just take him to his litter box but he doesnt do anything in it. He does it in front of the front door, in front of the bathroom door, in front of the litter box, under the dining table, and in the tub. He also screams his lungs out to go outside. Its not just a regular meow, its like a yowl!! He wants to go out all the time and the other one isnt this way at all. The other kitten uses the box always and doesnt care too much about being outside. The one that does, Ive tried not giving him attention after he does it on the carpet. I try cleaning it with vinegar, pet odor and stain remover, and a little bit of 409. Nothing is working and its getting really frustrating I rent and I really dont want to have to pay for new carpet.
