Help? Jills preschool class is made up of mostly (as in, practically all but her) Spanish speaking littles. Understandably, they speak a lot of Spanish in class. But lately, Jill has been coming home speaking almost MORE Spanish than English. (I just asked her if she wanted an orange, and she said si. She recently pointed to a star and said estrella and called a dog perro.) Now this wouldnt bother me so much if it were Henry or Lucy, being bilingual isnt a bad thing...but when shes mostly non-verbal, I feel like shes being done a serious disservice to be learning the wrong language altogether...when what she desperately needs is LANGUAGE. Any speech experts out there who can tell me if this is doing long term harm?
