Oct 5-28 MacMurray Art Committee-Contemporary Collection continues to Oct 25 and be open during Homecoming weekend Oct 18-20. At the Applebee Galley, every Thursday from 6-8 p.m. The gallery is located in the Putnam/Springer Center, southeast corner of Clay and State Street. Oct 5-27 Toni Long – Acrylic Paintings, at the David Strawn Art Gallery. An opening reception will be held on Saturday, October 5th from 6-8 p.m. with “Gallery Talk” at 6: 30 p.m. The opening reception and gallery talk is FREE and open to the public. The title of this exhibit is “From Pisgah to Paris.” More information call Kelly at 217.243.9390. Oct 18-20 MacMurray College Homecoming. This year’s theme is “We love MAC.” Parade starts at 10 a.m. There will be a silent auction, student food booths, activities for children, football and soccer games. For a complete schedule go to mac.edu/homecoming or call 217.479.7024. Oct 19 Town Brook Walk at the YMCA. Inaugural walk to MacMurray College. Start time is at 9 a.m. and is for all ages. Walk as far as you can (up to 3 miles there and back). See what’s possible along our city’s waterway. Location is downtown on the square in Jacksonville from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. It will feature apples, pumpkins, baked goods, crafts, flea market items, concessions by Muggy’s Fine Dining and APPLE PIE BAKE-OFF. This will coincide with MacMurray College Homecoming Parade at 10 a.m. The Apple Pie Bake-Off entries can be turned in between 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Judging will begin at noon.
