Here is a link to my Short Film I made for Uni! Its called SPLIT and its an exploration of the concept of performance and the relationship, growth and collaboration between an Actor and Director. I wrote the Script and interpreted it in two ways and Jacqui (the actor) performed the monologue in two distinct, stark and opposite ways- in which to highlight the importance of interpretation, imagination, and vision from a performer and director on a script and how set design, costume, music all combine to achieve very different stories. Part 1- the split screen is displaying a hollow, one level, flat performance, Jacqui just merely read out the monologue. Part 2- Hostage scene- Jacqui is a hostage in a violent victim position and is exploring her own emotions. Part 3- Mad in love scene- Jacqui is madly in love with her boyfriend and is expressing her love desire, infatuation and obsession of her lover. In the credits there is some behind the scenes footage, to show how the collaboration by Jacqui and myself was really the crux to this project and the foundation of a story.
