Here is a little CAE demo board I just put together using some of my favorite stuff I had lying around . I had a fixed size board to use (17 x 43) so I just filled it up! I originally planned to do a 2x board configuration using an RST 24 to control all the available functions. That is; effects, switchable outputs (there are 4) and amp channel controls, but when I was done I realized I could mount an RST 8 on top of the audio controller, which worked out great. The eight physical switches on the RST control the middle row of eight pedals in bypass loops. The bottom row of effects are midi controlled, and are direct accessed via their own bypass switches. When I want to include them in RST presets along with the other eight pedals, they are controlled by RST virtual controllers (VCAs). This is a multi amp rig with 4 switchable outputs, with different effects going to different amps. Just by patching, I can connect the amps in many different configurations. When I want to control all aspects of the system, with direct access to everything all the time, Ill use an RST 24 off board. See Block Diagram for details.
