.Here is a post I posted on Wiregrass Humane Society page (just hoping some people might offer some help-I understand Wiregrass is in Alabama and have way more than they can handle themselves already) A while back I posted a pic of a cute little puppy I found under some brush in my yard and assumed had been dumped. I kept checking and listening for more pups and never found any. I found a good home for the pup and thought all was well and happy. About two months later ( a couple weeks ago) I inadvertently frightened a couple of pups eating cat food on my porch, they yelped like I hurt them and the mama lunged at me and chased me into my house. It dawned on me that this mama dog might be who dumped the pup I found a home for. I didnt see them again for a few days, then one night I heard my neighbors donkeys hollering something awful. I thought it might be the dogs. The next morning I looked over fence behind my house and way back in field by the woods was the mama dog and about 4 or 5 pups running aross field. Then each night I would hear barking.I was afraid to put my cat out at night and afraid to take out my trash after dark. A couple days ago one was in road dead hit by car. So, we called the police dept. to see what could be done, the told us to call sherriffs office and we did..which in turn they gave us a number to a code enforcer (I dont know what that is), but we called and got a voice mail. I also posted on the Bainbridge, Ga. humane Society for some advice or help and someone said that they cold only take dogs from their controller and from their county and they were full. Someone else said the code enforcer would shoot the dogs So, I started to feed the dogs...because I was afraid if they were left to starve, they might attack my neighbors donkeys or one of my pets. I am afraid of the mama dog so I am feeding them by dropping food down over a large panel fence. I figure they will be much safer well fed. I also was hoping I could tame the pups enough to get them caught. I dont know how to handle this by myself, but I cant just let them all grow up wild in a dangerous pack! I didnt know what else to do, so I contacted PETA. I was told that my enquires were being furthered to a supervisor, but in meantime could I trap the pups. I did look into traps and they are expensive. I saw one affordable one on Ebay for $39 plus shipping which I could get, but would take time to receive it. Then once I trap the pups...what then? I have no where to take them. I live in a county with no shelter and no way to take care of strays other then possible a man with a gun Does anyone have a trap I could borrow? Or anyone out there wiling to take a pup in and foster him/her if I trap them? Here is a pic of the mama and two of the pups. They appear part Austrailan cattle dog, or lab and mom looks Rottweiler. These dogs are in desperate need of human intervention. The pups are still young enough to save. I am not sure about the mama.
