Here is a question for any nutrition expert friends (these numbers are JUST examples): assume my calorie goal for my age, weight, and lifestyle has been calculated as 1500 for the day. Say I want to have a calorie deficit per day of 500 for weight loss. Is there a difference in the way the body responds between these two scenarios: 1. I eat 1500 calories and burn 2000 calories per day OR 2. I decide to eat way less than the 1500 calories (lets say 1000) so I only have to burn 1500 calories to make the deficit of 500 calories. Does the body lose weight less easily the second way because it goes into starvation? Or is it essentially the same thing?
