Here is preview of the Our Verterans Resource Centers Grand Opening article “We have never forgotten one of the primary pillars that our service has taught us, leave no man behind.” Our Grand Opening 2013 Our Grand Opening of our veteran’s resource center, Western Nevada Student Veterans Resource Center started with the arrival of the VVA and them bringing in their three scooters that had for their drawing. Those scooters were selected colors: Red, white and black. As Marilee from the Always Lost Memorial organization shown up to display the various portraits made and done of the veterans and soldiers of Iraq-Afghanistan military tour. Then right around 1300 hrs. (1 pm) Kevin Burns, our club team advisor and mentor kicked off our Grand Opening with our club’s presentation to a pretty good full house of very important, appreciated and supporting citizens of Carson City and Reno, Nevada. Along with Kevin’s part in the presentation, there our president Tim Galluzi gone up and gave his view of our veterans club and our mission here on Western Nevada College campus and further campuses in Nevada. As while the presentation was going on that our Chancellor and fellow Board of Directors Education of Western Nevada College came up to our Veterans Resource Center office to get a one-on-one view of our neat little place that we like call it home base on campus for us veterans. In which, our main man Allen Green represented us pretty good and covered our “six” while we were busy with the presentation over at the Nugget Hall, Aspen Building. There Allen gave them good idea of our club and shape and count of our veterans here; being is account of around two hundred veterans which we have around hundred and eighty-six registered veterans. With little good sense humor along with the Chancellor of the possible fact of our club out grow our base, “Well, as that would be something see and that we have gave the Big Cheese and heads up, so we here just waiting for Big Cheese and the Little Mouse get together ..LOL” After, the presentation came to a closing around 1500 hrs. (3 pm) our tours started going around along with Kat of the Nevada Appeal taking pictures of our Resource Center. As we had couple of our proud veterans leading groups like Michelle Cruz, who had gave a good tour presentation and represented what we are all about, our mission and our campus atmosphere. We see her as an upcoming future graphic designer. Finally, our president Tim Galuzzi came up with his tour group, in which he did give a damn good job representing the club and the mission purpose in a good Marine recruiting salesmanship. It would be said that when he graduates and goes off the University of Reno, Nevada to say we’ll miss his enthusiasm. But there knowing he’s there we know Tim is there covering and breaking ground for the rest of the veterans following. “In all, we believe that it was a good day for us and Western Nevada College”
