Here is the information about the Wisdom Chorale. We will meet on - TopicsExpress

Here is the information about the Wisdom Chorale. We will meet on Tuesday evenings. For the first month, we will meet from 7-8:15. As we get further along, we will extend rehearsals in 15 minute increments (if we need to) but we will never go later than 9. While I do want people to attend rehearsals as often as possible, I also know that a group is a part of life and we have to be flexible. We do not have a concert date yet, but it will be after Easter. Together, well determine the best date. We meet at Crievewood United Methodist which is at 451 Hogan Rd, Nashville, 37220. You will find it easiest to park on the opposite side of the building (if you are looking at the church from Hogan Road). To do that, go to the end of Hogan and turn right, then turn right again into the back parking lot of the church. (If you go straight at the end of Hogan, you’ll be going into Ellington Agricultural Center.) We were originally doing the Faure Requiem, but I’ve determined that it requires too much divisi for our group size. Instead we are doing different settings (and styles) of four featured words: Alleluia/Hallelujah, Blessing/Benedictus, Light/ Lux/Luce and Peace/Pacem/Pax. We’re calling our program “Words of Wisdom.” There will be solo opportunities and the program isn’t final at this time. The type of music will span from Handel to Rutter to Broadway to Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” and Beth Nielsen Chapman’s “There’s a Light.” Remember, this group really exists to fill the needs of people who love singing. People who need/want to sing solos have a place and people who want to have fellowship with others who love music belong here, too. We’ll start on January 28 and our full complement of folks will be there by February 4. There will be new faces as well as our beloved faithful. We’ll have a quorum tomorrow as long as the cold doesn’t scare people off.
