Mónica Vereau-Trzaska saw the sale of Sugar Bears (Gliders) at a kiosk there, (kept in female staff pockets as well) and posted it for us. I strongly object to the selling of Sugar Gliders (Pocket Pets) at Chapel Hill Mall. The animals are sold from a kiosk and displayed as a commodity. They are not treated as sentient beings, Also, attracting patrons to purchase animals at this time of the year is very risky as these purchases are, more often than not, impulse purchases with no thought given to future care. Have those strolling through the mall, seeing these animals displayed so attractively, done any research on them and how to care for them? Many will wind up ignored, abandoned or abused. At at time when so many pet stores have stopped selling puppies, kittens, etc. - it is rather appalling to see animals, kept in someones pocket, in the middle of a crowded, noisy mall ready to go to just anyone who might want one on a whim PLEASE consider the discontinuance of this - they are not products.
