Here it is girls - my honest opinion why most gals arent as lean as they would like to be. Nope you dont need a different program. Your nutrition plan might be basically ok too if you didnt bend the rules....and its not that you dont have the right genetics to be lean and noooo, you dont need to do more cardio or aerobics classes. The reason you are likely to be chubbier than you wish to be is because you have some baggage! #8 You have too much baggage. Look if you’re overweight, more than 10 kilograms overweight this isnt only because you’re lazy or lack self discipline. I mean, it MAY be, but theres a deeper issue. When you’re carrying a lot of excess body-fat and tend to always run to food for emotional relief thats your sign you have serious deep seeded issues. Usually stemming from childhood or past relationships. In order for our mind to fully process emotions it needs to go through up to 6 phases before it can let it go and move on. You may have heard of that when it comes to relationship break-ups and death of loved ones. Along the way from childhood to current, somehow, somewhere YOU are probably still stuck in phases 1 or 2 of these issues although you may not feel them consciously. They are still lingering subconsciously and anytime you have any little stressors in life, you get overwhelmed and look for instant gratification which usually leads to foods high in sugar/flour. Dont let me tell you though....take a couple of moments and reflect back over your habits and patterns? The reason you run to these foods is because they actually have an addictive component and create a release of dopamine in your brain just like heroin and cocaine. Yes, you’re just like a drug addict except you use food as your high instead of dope!!! I guess when its put like that it sounds bad, but what I am saying is....its no surprise and therefore I understand why the habit is so hard to break. But as you can see once again, you are NOT going to find the answer to your emotional issues through a plate of food. Its only going to increase them because you’re going to be even more upset and depressed because you’re getting more overweight or not reaching your goals. Heck we know that eating emotionally adds to our guilt and then we end up MORE stressed. So we have to break the cycle and replace that behaviour with something else You need to suck it up and stop avoiding the elephant shitting in your living room. You need to work on your INNER you and DEAL with these issues. Otherwise you will be harbouring these feelings until you are well into your older age, and then you never lived your life quite as you wanted too as you werent in the body that you were passionate about having.. So what sounds easier, taking some time to deal with your issues? Or staying an emotional eater, over-fat, overweight, insecure, stressed out, and not living the high quality of life you REALLY want to be living? Or worse, some or all of those things??? I think any smart person will agree that dealing with the past is the easiest and best solution. So how do you deal with the past? Who would like some pointers from me? I am not a guru on this, but 25 years of dealing with getting people lean has really helped me with emotional eating and my understanding of it. And those clients that I have helped in the past seem to have two things in common - so I can share some thoughts if you would find them valuable.
