Here was my voting debacle today: I arrived at my polling place - TopicsExpress

Here was my voting debacle today: I arrived at my polling place around 2 p.m., and there was no line. I walked right up to the attendee and presented my license. It was refused. She did not even look at it. She asked me my last name, then my date of birth, and then my address. She proceeded to tell me that my address was wrong. The address in her database was from my previous address. I then told her that I had moved, and that I had changed my information with the Motor Vehicle Administration in April 2013 (the exact date on my Voter ID card is Registered: 4/18/2013; Date of Issue: 5/6/2013). She said Ok and printed out a receipt for me to verify the information and sign. I looked at the receipt, and it had my incorrect address AND my incorrect party affiliation. I told her that the information was wrong, that I had received my updated voter ID card with my new party affiliation (in 2013), AND my Official Sample Ballot Style #18 brochure in the mail at my new address (within the last 2 weeks). The Polling Place supervisor was called over, and she allowed me to vote today. I filled out a new form to correct the INcorrect info, and also called the Board of Elections (they could not help me-- told me to call the Voter Registration Department tomorrow). Heres my question: WHY ARE THERE TWO DATABASES WITH DIFFERENT INFORMATION??? They had every right to turn me away today and not allow me to vote because my address didnt match what was in their on-site database. How many other people might have been turned away for the same reason?
