Heres a story to offer hope. We were at the dance competitors meeting at our dance studio tonight. My daughter is in her second year competing but her fourth at the studio. Her classmates have always been cautious and tried to remember to wash their hands, but many people in the studio consumed nuts/peanut butter on a regular basis. And there were nut products in the vending machine. I want to be clear that other parents and the teachers have been kind and fairly accommodating, but there were certainly nuts around. We have a new owner this year and he announced at the meeting tonight that, in the interest of taking care of each other like family, the studio was now going to be nut free. I embarrassed my daughter a little by bursting into tears - I was overcome with joy and relief! Of course people could still have residue on them when they come in and others may not follow the rule, but a place that we spend many hours each week has just become much safer for us!
