Heres another theory, possibly more far-fetched than the last. Minor spoilers for Skin Game, and others for earlier books. Weve learned that Merlin, as in Camelot, was the first Merlin of the White Council. Weve also learned that the Sword of the Cross, Amoracchius, was possibly Excalibur, and that the Swords are bestowed on those of royal bloodlines. This all suggests that King Arthur existed in the history of the Dresdenverse. Now, Arthur is referred to as the Once And Future King because he didnt die, but was taken to an Island in the West to sleep until he is needed again. And at the beginning of Skin Game, Harry encounters someone beneath Demonreach (which was made by Merlin) with an English accent. So, my unusual theory is that the eventual Bearer of Amoracchius will be the reawakened King Arthur.
