Heres one thing some may not understand about the new CBA. You HAVE to spend that money. There a little leeway the first 4 to 8 years but by rule you have to spend 88.8% of you cap on player compensation. So no hoarding cash and hiring scrubs while sharing in successful teams revenue. By forcing teams to spend that money it means players are going to get paid. It does little good to foster ill-will and drive too hard a bargain with player contracts. Davis knew this and made big splashes with Free Agency. He often ended up wet but youve got to spend that money anyway so scrimping on talent for cash makes little sense now Davis out of whack contracts are out of the way and we have money
