Heres your 6-page form to get a certificate for your legally owned - TopicsExpress

Heres your 6-page form to get a certificate for your legally owned violin/viola/cello/bass bow allowing you to safely travel without your property being confiscated. Be sure to complete a form for each of your bows and definitely dont forget the $75 processing fee (again, for each). You will need to document that your bow was manufactured prior to the date CITES applied to the contraband material. You can find that here: cites.org/eng/resources/species.html Oh, and you may need to provide documentation from a qualified appraiser attesting to the age along with a statement that it hasnt been worked or modified after December 28, 1973. Being that many bow tips have been modified since 1973 and the form says nothing of what to do if it has, you should probably keep that tid-bit of info to yourself, lest you wish to delve deeper into the ivory-ban abyss. Also, if you purchased the bow after December, 28, 1973 the Division of Management Authority will contact you directly to discuss what youll need in the way of documentation. If it was imported into the US after 1975, you may need to provide a cleared Wildlife Declaration for Import form 3-177 or a cleared import documentation form from the Dept. of Agriculture or Department of Homeland Security By the way, youll need to renew this, at least, every three years. Im glad they are finally reining in these out of control musicians and their legally obtained and maintained .3 gram fossil ivory bits that have little if nothing to do with the elephant ivory trade. This should definitely put this country back on the right course... fws.gov/international/pdf/permit-application-form-3-200-88.pdf
