Here’s what Beliefnet.org said about Paul Walker’s Christian - TopicsExpress

Here’s what Beliefnet.org said about Paul Walker’s Christian faith: “Long before The Fast and the Furious, Paul Walker starred in an episode of television’s Touched By An Angel. This role didn’t come as a surprise to any of his family, as Walker was raised Mormon and attended Christian schools throughout his life. He isn’t a Mormon though, he is a non-denominational Christian.” The difference between Mormonism and Christianity is that Mormons not only believe that God lives on a distant planet, that He has many wives, that we will one day become like God, and many other unbiblical doctrines, but they also believe that you can “earn” your way to Heaven. That’s the big lie of religion. The Bible makes it clear that no amount of being good, being religious, doing good works, fasting, sitting on hard pews, lying on beds of nails, facing a certain way when you pray, etc., will bribe the Judge of humanity to forgive sins. A judge who lets a criminal go because the criminal offers him money before the trial is not a good judge. God will not pervert justice because sinful men and women offer Him anything in the form of “works.” The only way to be saved and find everlasting life, is through God’s mercy. Here’s how the Bible expresses this: “ For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9). Here is the same verse for those of you who would like it from the original (and complex) Greek language: “For it is by free grace (God’s unmerited favor) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ’s salvation) through [your] faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [of your own doing, it came not through your own striving], but it is the gift of God; Not because of works [not the fulfillment of the Law’s demands], lest any man should boast. [It is not the result of what anyone can possibly do, so no one can pride himself in it or take glory to himself.]” (Ephesians 2:8-9, Amplified Bible).
