Hey, DC - I just read on Planet Pet DC - the following (please watch your dogs!!!): One of my clients in Logan Circle alerted me to the fact that someone has been dropping Pill Pockets (malleable meaty treats that you envelop tablets/capsules inside of to have your pets eat their medicine!) filled with some kind of toxin to poison dogs. This happened at Logan Circle, where the dogs gobble them up. Several dogs have gotten very sick, and unfortunately one has died from the yet to be identified poison. Something similar happened last year in two different parts of Northern Virginia, but instead of Pill Pockets, the assailant used raw meat in parks that allowed dogs. Im trying to spread the word, because they havent caught whomever is doing this, and I wanted people to keep their eyes peeled around other parks that allow dogs, as well. Pill Pockets are relatively small, and tend to be dark in color, so if they are hidden in the grass, it may be tough to catch them before the dogs do! Please be careful out there, and keep me posted if you see or hear of anything, as I am trying to keep on top of the situation!
