Hey Everyone!!! So we are pretty much settled in at Sick - TopicsExpress

Hey Everyone!!! So we are pretty much settled in at Sick Kids... Ive had about four hours of sleep since Friday morning at about 6 so hopefully this post makes sense :P We arrived at the hospital in the wee hours of the morning on Saturday to a welcome from MJ Wheeler-Ali and Omar Ali!! They hung out and kept us company and kept us smiling until just before we came up to our room at about 5am!!! Because of the report from CHEO, they were expecting a much worse situation so they had changed the plans from arriving and going to our private room to going to emergency to be evaluated. They were trying to decide if she needed to be in a monitored room or to go to PICU... We are now in the monitored room because they deemed her stable enough that she didnt need PICU. Hey albumin is substantially low which is a protein made by the liver which is an indicator that she is, in a sense, malnourished. It is supposed to be at 35 I do believe, but it is only at 10. So they have started the TPN to try to stabilize what is going on inside her little body in regards to that. She is still allowed to nurse while on the TPN also. And she didnt react to the TPN this time so it is more than likely that the reaction was to the fentanyl which she now wears an allergy bracelet for and there is a large red sticker on her chart!! So being in a monitored room means that we are in a room with 5 other children (4 babies and one 10 year old). There is a nurses desk in the middle and beds around. There is nowhere for parents to sleep and there is no cosleeping allowed in here. That being said, Sick Kids has blocked a private room for us so that Justin and I can take turns sleeping and sitting with Epic E... And Epic she is!!! She has been the best she has been all week today!!! Her resp rates sometimes come down to between 30-40, although it is most often between 50-60, but it nice to see the low numbers at least for a minute or so! She is sleeping IN THE CRIB right now and her heart rate is hovering around 118 which is also down from about 130ish, so she is resting comfortably!! Her bp even came down to 92 the last check, so shes amazing!!! Again, it must be everyones positive and prayers!!! MAYBE its from all of the amazing things that were happening for Epic E today!!! A huge thanks to Sylvie Thibert for raising $2050 for Eleanor by bringing here Cornwall community together!!! Also a HUGE thank you to all the donors for the baskets and to everyone who bought tickets in support of this cause!! Also to Natasha Chenier and Chelsea Kay and Sylvies husband for helping out!!! Another huge thanks to Barry Benton, Barbara Benton and Colleen Benton-Parette for donating the proceeds from their golf tournament to Epic Es support fund!!! Thanks to Scotia Bank also for matching the proceeds made at the tournament!! And to Jill Benton Munro for taking Ruby out to the park and getting such great photos of her having such a great time!!! Also, thanks to Melissa and Dave for organizing a 5k run for today, with proceeds going to Eleanors support fund as well!!! Amazing!!! A great big thanks to Céline Doré for visiting today and bringing the most amazing cookies and muffins and cherries!!! It was wonderful to see you and you definitely know the way to my heart!! :) I need to find out where you got the goods!! As of right now we are looking at Es surgery being early next week, we are just hoping her body can stabilize enough so we can get this over with and in the past!! Continued thoughts and prayers and positive vibes are so much appreciated!!! Much love to everyone!!! ~*XoX*~ Epic E and Family!!!
