Hey FB peeps, I need your help. My aunt fell and broke her hip, so she needs people to donate blood on her behalf at the Blood Bank in Ladymeade Gardens. Her name is Evelyn Branker. Blood donors must specify that the donation is being made on her behalf and should ensure that her name is on the receipt. Aunt Evelyn was the first woman to drive a Mini in a rally in Barbados, and along with her brothers George and Keith, was a founding member of the Barbados Rally Club. She taught for years at what was initially Boys Foundation School; her pupils include Joel Garner and Sir Marston Gibson, to name only two. I visited her today and begged her to leave the breakdancing to younger folks. I was rewarded with a hearty laugh and a smiling promise to do just that. She is in good spirits and the staff on B5 are treating her very well, bless them. So, things could be a lot worse, and I am grateful that she is able to laugh with me, at 83 years young. Never a dull moment....
