Hey ROCstars, The United Ways ROC the DAY campaign is just a week away! This week well be sharing some highlights from each of SCGs 2014 programs. Thank you so much for considering a contribution on December 2nd! First up, Shimmering Light Farm...as part of our aim to nurture, support and germinate the next generation of agricultural based land stewards, we - employed second year farmer, Tanya Rogers, who created our most successful season ever! - tilled up ~30% more land - increased sales by ~27% - increased production from ~3.5 to ~4 tons of food (14% increase) - added a 15 member CSA - added an intern - purchased a walk-in cooler - delivered a permaculture workshop - offered monthly yoga classes - basked in the fellowship of a stunning community of supporters - celebrated the turning of each season with festivals, feasts and barn dances :) Learn more about ROC the DAY below.
