Hey all Ive been in the Fire/EMS field for a while and have worked at a few different police agencies in communications for a few years now. I bring this idea before you that I believe will save many lives on the road, but Im having issues getting it off the ground and would like to know how it would be welcomed into this little world of ours. We all know about EVOC and the Vanessa K. Free Act, well with todays modern vehicles cabs are being sound dampened and made to hear less outside of the passenger compartment. The use of lights and sirens are becoming less and less useful at alerting drivers, I came up with the idea for the AllCall F/M Transmitter. This device can be used to transmit an emergency message and/or the sound of sirens to persons about the vehicle to properly yield to an approaching emergency vehicle. I think implications in the future can use Bluetooth or GPS, but for right now all vehicles have radios and this device wouldnt require that all passenger vehicles be outfitted with it, just the cruisers, fire trucks, and/or ambulances. Whats some of the danger factors when running emergency traffic? *Other traffic *Intersections The transmitter would alert people while a vehicle is breaking an intersection and while other traffic is flowing the same direction or oncoming. I believe with our current situation overseas that would come in handy with military vehicles out on patrol, if this device could transmit a message in a certain language it could transmit an interpreted message through the vehicles speakers. I feel passionate that this idea could work with the help of word of mouth, donations, and feedback from the people that would use it. What do you guys think?
