Hey everyone! Ill try to make this long story short. My grandpa passed away in July and my grandma has recently sold her house and is moving to Michigan on the 9th of December to be with my family. She is looking for a home for her 7 year old Pembroke Corgi named Zena. My grandmother is 84 years old and it is getting harder and harder for her to care for Zena, she is unable to play with her much or take her on walks like she deserves. Zena does have some social issues. Shes a non-aggressive dog but shes definitely skiddish around people. She loves my grandma and she is good with people that visit as long-term house guests however she barks at strangers who come in and hang out temporarily. Shes never bitten anyone, shes more likely to hide behind the couch and stay out of sight of visitors, and once they get up to leave she paces and sometimes barks if they go to hug my grandma. My grandma will be moving to an apartment home situation and is also uncomfortable having a dog there that barks at people, it would be rather difficult to avoid people in an apartment situation. Im disclosing all of this because I dont want anyone to be surprised should they decide to help/adopt Zena. I have contacted the AZ Cactus Corgi Rescue and Vicky has told me they are rather full right now and to try to find a home for her in the meantime. She is housebroken and does well with the groomers. She has also spent time in a kennel setting while my grandparents were out of town, they let her play with the other dogs, bathed, obviously fed and cared for her and she did well there. I, myself, am unable to take Zena because we already have a corgi and are expecting a baby in February, we unfortunately do not have the time or the resources to take Zena in. Does anyone know of any other organization or would anyone on here be able to help Zena? Here is a photo of her :-) Thank you all!
