Hey everyone, Im not as early as I had hoped but we always have busy mornings :) OK, lets see... His night wasnt so great, it was after 2am before I got him down for more than a few minutes before they came in again to take vitals, or breathing treatments, or labs...no rest for the weary... Physical therapy & speech therapy came together today to double team him...lol he sat up with assistance for about 15 mins, is doing pretty good with his head control, although it is easy to tell when he gets tired since its the first control he loses :) He got to eat applesauce and drink thickened grape juice, he even managed to feed himself a few bites. They had him to attempt to talk but so far its something he is keeping all to him. When his speech therapist was trying to get him to say kids names he didnt talk but when she asked if this one was Tyler he gave a thumbs up! His RN is Hannah and his Student Nurse is Aimee, they both seem very nice, his PCT is Dan and he is awesome :) all his vitals still look very good and Hannah said they might actually remove the trach today! So very excited. Hes been more calm today...only removed his bandages once...lol Amy, CRNP to Dr Mullins came around and put him thru a few moves, he wasnt enthused about it so only did a few things. I let her know that not only did he engage in a full smile several times yesterday, he also now recognized his letters...out of 11 he got 9 correct, I think the 2missed was more of a sight issue than memory. Well I think thats got most everything, will post more later...as always thanks for everything...
