Hey friends, It is time to start gathering donations for the Annual Comedy Cares Fundraiser, let me know if you can help out. If you arent familiar with how it works, please read below This is the time I start organizing and planning the Comedy Cares Christmas fundraisers One will be at Wiseguys Comedy Club in Salt Lake One will be at The Tuscan in Price, Utah How It Works: I gather Items from people (you) and businesses for an auction/raffle where you buy as many raffle tickets as youd like for $1 each I gather my favorite comedians from around the state and we do a show for you, after the show, all the items (over 100 last year) will be brought onstage and then we pull random raffle tickets for some items (someone won a Wii and another won a Fender guitar on a $1 ticket last year), some of the items will be auctioned to the highest bidder. (someone got a brand new Specialized Mountain Bike for $350 last year). Some of the other items last year included an iPad, Guitars autographed by Rob Zombie, Trans Siberian Orchestra and Hugh McDonald of Bon Jovi, a million gift certificates, bikes, gift baskets, Music and recording equipment, massages, over $600 in tattoo work, and on and on and on. After the show, we take the money directly to Mick & Allen of KBER 101 (Salt Lake Fundraiser) and they give the money to local families in need, on air, you get to hear your contribution at work) the money for the Price fundraiser goes straight to United Ways Angel Tree program. What I Need From You: Donate an item, we dont want used stuff but feel free to buy something someone would want to win at a raffle (camp stuff, car stuff, gifts, whatever, preferably no childrens toys) if you own a business or work for a company, have them donate goods or services, I will pick them up. We have doubled our amount every year so far and it has grown to be a monster, last year it was KBERs only Christmas fundraiser and we helped over 100 families in the valley have a Christmas, The Price, Utah fundraiser was nearly as much as the Salt lake one. this has become my lifes work. Almost everyone that has come to them has come back the next year because it is so fun, it is the biggest party youll go to over Christmas and this year the venue will be twice as large since Wiseguys Trolley Square is no more. I cant wait! holler at me if youd like to help.
