Hey friends! Its a bummer to have to write this but the more we git inta fahmin, the more we realize these things happen.... We WILL NOT have any chicken eggs for a minimum of two months. Are hens are slow to molt, and during this time their immune systems have weakened greatly. I have been treating them in EVERY holistic way possible, but with no improvement. I have used old time farming methods to improve the flock, and get them laying, and feeling good but those methods have not worked:(. Its time that our hens get treated with the correct and current medicines that they need. What this means: they will be treated for about six weeks which will include a dewormer, a crd treatment, and a coccidiosis treatment. If I do not use this form of treatment I am condemning the flock to death, and thats not something this self proclaimed Snow White can let happen. We have a lot of time, energy, and money invested into our current flock, and these ladies (and boys) deserve the best. Its a bummer that hardiness, and strong immune systems have been bred out of chickens nowadays, but thats the way the world seems to lean to. Please hold tight and stay tuned for any updates.
