Hey guys! Im brand new to the autoharp world, and eager to learn. I picked this little gem up at a yard sale recently for $30! Its a 1970s model by Oscar Schmidt. It sat in the ladys basement for several years before she decided to get rid of it, so it was very dusty when I received it but otherwise in really good shape. I cleaned and polished it thoroughly, tuned it in with an app. on my phone, and ordered replacement felt for the chords. The strings on the instrument look discolored. I have no idea if it needs to be restrung. How do you know when to replace them? I have read that it can be expensive, so if I can avoid that expense I would like to. Any autoharp advise is appreciated. :)
