Hey guys! Im gonna be starting a street art/graffiti club at appalachian next semester, focused on both learning about past and present prominent urban artists, as well as learning the actual techniques and mechanics of using spray paint. I was an avid user of the Free Expression Tunnel at NC State before I transferred, and I was able to learn the importance of artistic expression in a common place on campus, and to see the positive reactions of passersby once they saw a piece they liked. Im hoping that once its up and running, I will be able to reserve an outdoor space where we are allowed to paint and practice (perhaps somewhere more visible and accessible than the tunnels) or at least come up with a deal to get free or cheap materials (canvas, paint, nozzles, etc). You dont have to be an art major, or have any artistic skill to join! Anyone with an interest in graffiti or street art and the desire to learn more about it (and to actually learn how to do it yourself), please message me your info!
