Hey guys, Ive been doing a lot of research/exploration lately and have noticed some striking patterns. Humans now and in history, seem to have an intuition about the inherent duality of reality (or non-duality!) that seems to pervade all things. Ive listed some below (starting with McKennas and Sheldrakes Novelty and habit). This is by no means an exhaustive list. What are your thoughts? Have I tried too hard to fit some in here that would rather not be shoe-horned into this dualistic categorisation? Can you add to the list? The words in the left and right hand columns fall under their respective categories as I see it. -Novelty / habit (Terence McKenna / Rupert Sheldrake) -Chaos / order -right hemisphere / left hemisphere (Iain Mcgilchrist) -Forces that tend to coherence & combination / forces that tend to incoherence & separation (mcgilchrist) -Principle of order through perturbation / entropy (Ilya prigogine) -dark matter / dark energy - implicate order / explicate order (David bohm) -yin / yang (daoism) -wave / particle (quantum physics) - subject / object (western materialist paradigm) - Akasha / prana (Indian mysticism) -Dionysus / Apollo (Greek mythology) - female / male - shakti / shiva (Indian mysticism) - self / other - implicit / explicit -subconscious - conscious -anima / animus (Carl Jung) -Collective unconscious / ego (Carl Jung) -Body - Mind (Descartes / Cartesian Dualism) -Goo / prickles (Alan Watts) -The arts / science -archaic / progressive -oneness / separateness (tolle) -irrational (paradox) / rational / logical -intuition / rationality -snake / bird (shared by many mythologies) -Universal AC / entropy (Isac asimov)
